Tomato Chutney


Tomato is one of the most essential vegetable of our kitchen.We use this atleast 70% of our dishes at home.And definitely almost every restaurant recipe is made from tomato. The famouus tomato puree.

Here I ll share a simple tomato chutney recipe.We can have this recipe as a desert also.Its actually sweet dish with little spice.Tastes really good.

Preparation is very simple.

Preparation Time:20 min

Ingredients:
  • 4-5 big fresh tomatos
  • 1 dry chilli
  • 1/2 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 tbsp mustard seeds(White one)
  • 4-5 cloves of garlic chopped
  • Mustard oil
  • Salt as per taste
  • Sugar
How to cook:
Heat a pan and add mustard oil to it.Heat the oil properly.Add bay leaf, dry chilli to the oil.After that add mustard seeds .Cover the pan as the seeds will start spluttering.After that add chopped ginger and cook for a min.
Now its time to add tomatoes.Add them and stire properly.Add salt and turmeric powder.

Now cover the pan.After 5 min we can see tomatos will leave lots of water.Dry the water littelebit and fry the tomatoes.Finally add sugar and little more water.Cover the pan and cook for next 5 min.

It will be thick and dark red.Looks awsome.

You can add kismis,kaju also.
